Location

The School of Mathematics is housed in the Mathematics Institute on Senghennydd Road, about ten minutes walk away from Cardiff city centre and Cathays Station, near to the Sherman Theatre and the Student’s Union Building. The location of the Mathematics Institute is indicated by the number 42 on the University map.

The meeting will be held at the School of Mathematics, room M/0.40. Registration, coffee breaks will take place in M/0.37. Lunches will take place in M/1.02. (Next to UCAS Room).

Getting to Cardiff and to the School of Mathematics

Cardiff can be reached by road or by direct train and coach service from London and from the main airports, see details below. See also directions provided by the University of Cardiff and Visit Cardiff website.

By train

Cardiff can be reached by train from most of the main UK destinations: see the webpage of Arriva for tickets and timetables. The main rail station is Cardiff Central. From there, there are frequent trains serving regularly Cathays Station. The Mathematics Institute is very close to Cathays Station: if arriving at Cathays from Cardiff Central, cross over the footbridge, walk across the car park to Senghennydd Road, turn right, walk past the Students Union, University Bookshop and the Sherman Theatre. The Mathematics Institute is the next building on the right (view map).

By car

By plane

Cardiff airport. This is the closest airport. Being very small, few flights arrive there. Some direct connections from Amsterdam and some other European destinations (e.g. Barcelona, Madrid, Faro, etc.) exist: see Cardiff airport website.
From Cardiff airport you can reach Cardiff city centre and the School of Mathematics by bus or by taxi.

Bristol airport. This is the closest larger airport, see the website. From there, the easiest way to reach Cardiff is by bus+train (Bristol Airport to Cardiff Central): see here tickets and timetables.
